Everett Lacrosse Club’s Move to SKYLL

Dear Everett Lacrosse Club Families,

We are excited to share an important update about the future of Everett Lacrosse Club. After careful consideration, the board has voted unanimously to leave the North Sound Youth Lacrosse League (NSYL) and join the newly formed Sno-King Youth Lacrosse League (SKYLL).

This decision was made with our athletes and families in mind, and we believe it is the right move for the growth and development of our program.

Why SKYLL?

  1. Proximity to Competitive Teams: SKYLL includes teams from Everett, Marysville, Monroe, Snohomish, and Stanwood, providing better opportunities for local and competitive matchups. There is also hope to include close programs to the south in the future.
  2.  Collaboration with Seattle Teams: SKYLL will coordinate closely with the Seattle Metropolitan Youth Lacrosse Association (SMYLA) that includes teams like Southwest Lacrosse Club Titans, Eastside Catholic Crusaders, Seattle Wolfpack, and Queen Anne Warriors. This partnership will foster a more competitive and exciting environment for our players.
  3. NSYL’s Northern Focus: NSYL will primarily include teams to the north, such as Anacortes, Arlington, Bellingham, Lake Stevens, North County, and Skagit. While we value our time with NSYL, we believe SKYLL offers greater opportunities for our club geographically and competitively.

School Boundary Adherence

As part of SKYLL’s bylaws, we will be strictly adhering to school boundaries moving forward. However, families who have already been part of Everett Lacrosse Club will be grandfathered into the program and can continue playing with us. As we grow, future players will be drawn from the communities within our designated school boundaries. This approach ensures alignment with league expectations while preserving the relationships and traditions built within our club.

Looking Forward

As one of the founding and leading programs in SKYLL, Everett Lacrosse Club is excited to help shape this new league and create an outstanding experience for our athletes. We believe this move will:

  • Reduce travel for families
  • Provide better competition
  • Strengthen the relationships within our local lacrosse community

We are confident this is the best decision for our athletes and their development, and we look forward to an exciting future in SKYLL. Thank you for your continued support of Everett Lacrosse Club.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. As a reminder, spring registration is open, and an early discount applies until the end of the year.

Best Regards,

Matt Ellis
